Singapore pooches get all dressed up for Christmas

SINGAPORE - It's Christmas time and Singapore's luckiest pet dogs are not letting themselves out of the festivities this year.

Over 120 dog-lovers turned up for the Santa Doggies event at Klapsons Boutique Hotel earlier this month. The beloved pooches dressed up in funky and cute Christmas-themed costumes as they tucked took part in a series of eating contests and mingled with each other at the hotel's rooftop lounge.

Volunteer group Hope Dog Rescue was also on scene with one of their latest rescued dogs Elmo. Elmo, who was abused to a point of severe starvation, showed significant improvement when he turned up at the event.

Although visibly weak, his ribs were no longer protruding and he was able to even take a few steps down the stairs.

Hope Dog Rescue said that Elmo was recovering well in a December 17 update. He even gained 3.3kg in just 4 weeks. While he has been found to be completely blind, Elmo is now eating and drinking well, the volunteer group said in their blog.
