SINGAPORE - What does it mean to grow up as a Singaporean?

Singaporeans have been taking to Twitter to answer that question, after the hashtag #GrowingUpSingaporean began trending on the microblogging site recently.

Users have shared their favourite childhood memories, with many posting pictures of their favourite snacks from yesteryear, including haw flakes, ice popsicles and ice cream sandwiches.

Other users posted about their favourite local English and Mandarin TV series, such as Under One Roof, Growing Up and Holland V.

Many also reminisced about items or practices that used be more commonly seen, including flag erasers, writing in school autograph books, playing Snake on old mobile phones and bus ticketing machines before the introduction of EZ-Link cards.
