Singapore's first restaurant robot equipped with laser navigation to debut at franchise event

SINGAPORE - MOBOT Robotics, a local company striving towards innovation, technology, research and development, will be launching Singapore's first restaurant service robot at Franchising and Licensing Asia (FLAsia) 2015. The event will take place from Oct 29 to 31 at Marina Bay Sands, Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Level One, Exhibition Hall B.

"The robot is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and Singapore," said Mr Joe Ong, Marketing Manager of MOBOT Pte Ltd, adding to its list of firsts. "So far no one has this kind of laser navigation robot that can move freely to serve orders," he added.

The service robot also allows customers access to the food menu and make enquiries. Showcased for the first time at an exhibition, visitors of FLAsia 2015 can look forward to being served drinks by the service robot at booth number B32.

31 new exhibitors have joined FLAsia 2015, a part of which are international brands. These brands include Chili's® Grill & Bar from USA, Flip Out from Australia, Cafe Droptop from South Korea, Farm Designs from Japan, Metro Kids Company from Portugal and Sanondaf from Malta.

Besides showcasing top international franchise and license brands, FLAsia will feature a series of talks and presentations.

A total of 13 experienced presenters will take to the stage across the three-day event, with the aim of helping visitors gain greater knowledge on the basics of franchising, legal aspects, intellectual property rights, and trademarks in franchising.
