SINGAPORE - A new megastore in the West is set to provide shoppers with a one-stop destination for lifestyle products and services that range from groceries to clothing and furniture.
Opened today, Big Box, located within walking distance of Jurong East MRT station, is the largest project under the Economic Development Board's Warehouse Retail Scheme.
The mall's approximately 400,000 sq ft retail space is spread across three levels out of the total eight, with the ground floor being dominated by Warehouse Mart, a hypermart that boasts Singapore's biggest frozen seafood section.
Big Box also has an outdoor and sporting goods outlet called Leisure Box, while Style Box, Hip Box and HI Box offer fashion accessories, gift items and home improvement products respectively. Consumer electronics can be found at Consumer Box and mobile communications, at HP Box. Silver Box sells geriatric products such as adult diapers and wheelchairs.
The second and third levels are where shoppers can find furniture, furnishing products and home design services.
Other sections in the megastore include an event hall and a food court.
Shoppers can order non-perishable items online and pick them up via a drive-through service, the first of its kind to be offered in Singapore.
Big Box is open from 10am to 10pm daily, and is offering free parking from today till Jan 1.
