Skeleton found entombed in cement in Malaysia

PETALING JAYA - The otherwise quiet Kuala Kubu Baru town was shocked to its core when residents found human remains entombed within a drum located beside a primary school.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam said a report was lodged at the Bukit Beruntung police station when the drum was discovered.

The drum was left by a pond that was just metres away from a Chinese primary school from the town.

Fire and Rescue Department officers were dispatched to the scene at about 12.15pm yesterday. They spent about four hours cutting through the drum and smashing hardened cement in order to retrieve the skeleton.

"The body was placed upside down in the drum. We found the skull at the very bottom.

"We believe this person was murdered, but the cause of death, gender and how long the person has been dead are still under investigation," said Supt Supramaniam.

He added that the skeleton had been sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital mortuary.

Supt Supramaniam called on the public with information on the incident to contact ASP Raduan Mohsmad (019-281 0193) or ASP Manimaran (013-687 9955).
