Small car COE lowest since early 2012

SINGAPORE - Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums ended at a three-year low for small cars and a seven-month low for big cars, according to the latest figures released on Tuesday.

In category A for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp, COE premiums went down to $57,199 from $62,002 two weeks ago. This is almost a three-year low, according to The Straits times.

Premiums for category B for cars 1,600cc or 130bhp also dived to seven-month low from $70,890 to $66,751. Open COE, which is used for any vehicle type but ends up being used mainly for bigger cars, also plunged from $71,921 to $67,901.

On the contrary, COE for commercial vehicles and buses went up to $53,202 from $52,101.

COE for motorcycles also went up to $5,800 from $5,504.
