SINGAPORE - Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, will be leading a delegation to attend the White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in a statement on Tuesday.
The summit will be held from Feb 18 to 20 in Washington, D.C in the US.
MHA said the Summit aims to develop an action agenda to address the phenomenon of violent extremism by bringing together key leaders from around the world.
SMS Masagos will meet officials from the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security at the CVE Summit as well as the Special Representative for Muslim Communities Shaarik Zafar to discuss issues of mutual interest, including efforts to counter radicalisation and rehabilitation.
His visit will reaffirm Singapore's commitment towards the anti-ISIS coalition and in the fight against violent extremism, said MHA.
SMS Masagos will be accompanied by senior officials from MHA during the visit.
