Social service salary benchmark

SINGAPORE - The Ministry of Social and Family Development provides salary benchmarks for key professions in the social service sector, such as social workers and psychologists, said Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing on Monday.

Their pay will be pegged to similar jobs in the market.

"In the next phase, we are actually going to look at the mid-career entrants and also the more senior social service professionals," said Mr Chan in response to Ms Denise Phua (Moulmein-Kallang GRC) who asked if others in the social service sector are also paid competitively.

For senior social service professionals and mid-career entrants, there is still a "bigger gap than new entrants", he said.
