A special visitor

SINGAPORE - Tan Li Xuan, the 14-year-old girl whose hand was crushed by a sugarcane juicer, received a visit from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday while recovering in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

In a post on Facebook yesterday, PM Lee said he told her about John Wesley Powell, an explorer who lost an arm in the American Civil War but eventually led an expedition that discovered the Grand Canyon in 1869.
