SPF announces full roll-out of community policing system

SINGAPORE - The police have rolled out the community policing system (COPS) at Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre on Sunday, completing the full transition of all 35 Neighbourhood Police Centres to COPS.

Commander of Bedok Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Alvin Moh said that there are police cameras installed at more than 4,400 HDB blocks and multi-storey carparks.

"We are on track to have police cameras in all 10,000 HDB Blocks and multi-storey carparks by end 2016," he added.

"Police Officers on bicycle patrols interact with residents on a daily basis, and the new Crime Strike Force has enhanced localised crime fighting capabilities. The Police will continue to work hard to build on our foundation of trust with the community and keep our communities safe," he said.
