SPF renews MOU with Brunei police

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Royal Brunei Police Force'.

SPF Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee signed the MOU with Dato Seri Pahlawan Bahrin Mohd Noor to strengthen law enforcement cooperation against transnational crime and developing police cooperation.

Signing was held on May 6 at the Police Headquarters in Singapore.

The MOU was first signed in 2006 and renewed in 2009.

SPF said that cooperation is expected to be further enhanced in the areas of information sharing, capacity building, professional development and training with this MOU.

Commissioner Ng said: "We share a deep and substantive relationship with the Royal Brunei Police Force. This renewed MOU further cements our ties, and commits both of our police forces to cooperation in combating transnational crimes and professional development.

"I firmly believe that this renewed MOU, and the activities that will follow from it, will help to make Singapore a safer place," he added.
