SINGAPORE - Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has won three awards from the International News Media Association (Inma).

The Straits Times' Schools team, which puts out the secondary school supplement IN and its primary school counterpart Little Red Dot, clinched third place in the public relations or community service campaign category.

The paper's online citizen website Stomp came in third in the category honouring ideas to encourage print readership or engagement.

The SPH iink Awards - which seek to reward creative ideas that best demonstrate the use of SPH's spectrum of media platforms comprising print, digital, radio and out-of-home - was third in the category on growing advertising sales or retaining advertising clients.

The ST Schools project "48 Values From The News" led to a bulk purchase of The Straits Times by the Ministry of Education on four special editions last year, and the inclusion of the newspaper into the national civics curriculum.

Stomp increased the pool of stories from which the print section could draw from, which in turn encouraged print readership.

Inma provides media executives with global best practices to grow revenue, audience and brands for news media firms.

The awards were presented at the 84th Annual Inma World Congress in San Francisco on Tuesday.
