SINGAPORE Singapore - will have a new research centre for sustainable lighting by 2015.
The Singapore Green Building Council and the Building and Construction Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding with the California Lighting Technology Centre at the University of California, Davis to develop Singapore's own Lighting Technology Centre.
This was one of the new initiatives announced by Environment and Water Resources Minister Vivian Balakrishnan at the council's 4th anniversary dinner on Thursday.
The centre will focus on promoting more energyefficient solutions to lighting usage.
