S'pore singer Aliff Aziz fined $2,000 for stealing 2 mobile phones

SINGAPORE - Singaporean singer Aliff Aziz, who has made a name for himself locally and across the causeway, was fined $2,000 last Friday (Sep 26) for stealing two mobile phones.

According to Berita Harian, the 23-year-old, had stolen a HTC One and a Samsung Note 1 belonging to Yong Kit Siong, worth $800 each.

The offence was committed on May 24 at 12.01pm at Block 36 of Tanglin Halt Road, together with an accomplice, identified as Muhammad Nurazlee Roselee.

If he fails to pay the fine, Aliff faces a jail term of 20 days. He could have been jailed for up to 3 years or fined, or both.

His mother mentioned that he was in Singapore on personal matters, and would return to Kuala Lumpur soon.

Prior to this, Aziz had disappeared from his filming location in KL, where he was shooting a drama.

According to mStar Online, Aliff said last month that he was not running away from anyone, was not hiding, and was also not facing any financial difficulties.

He had also deleted all his Instagram photos because he wanted to turn over a new leaf as the "New Aliff".
