S'pore woman tracking down man who borrowed $200 from her in Bangkok

A Singaporean woman is looking for a man she lent money to while on holiday in Thailand last week (1 Dec).

According to Shin Min Daily News, a 69-year-old Singaporean man approached the woman for money in Bangkok after he was allegedly robbed.

The man said his he and his wife needed money to return to Singapore.

He showed the woman his passport and gave her his contact details. He then requested to borrow 5000 Baht (S$201)

The woman lent him 2000 Baht (S$80) out of pity.

However, after returning to Singapore, the woman was unable to contact the man.

She recounted the incident to her friend.

To the woman's surprise, her friend also came across the same old man and even took pictures of his IC and passport after she lent him S$500.

According to the woman's friend, many Singaporean tourists in Bangkok have come across this mysterious 69-year-old.
