S'pore's first kissing booth at Raffles Place draws crowd

SINGAPORE - Valentine's Day festivities got off to an early start at Raffles Place on Thursday (Feb 5), as eight young and attractive females gave away kisses to members of the public in the financial district.

According to a statement from the organiser, close to 1,000 people from all walks of life muscled in on the action, from corporate businessmen in suits, to elderly "uncles", and even an infant.

"How many kisses can I have? Will they kiss me anywhere?" asked a curious bystander during the busy lunch hour.

The kisses were generously offered by the women that form Forte, a group of young Singaporeans in the music and nightlife industry. The girls, known by one-word monikers Violin, Vass, Carlers, Sherry, Phoebe, Nicole, Jade and Red, are singers, dancers and deejays.

The unusual giveaway is to promote Valentine Vendetta 2015, a singles party to be held on Valentine's Day (Feb 14) at Fashion TV Club, Clarke Quay.

The annual party is expected to attract 2,000 singles, according to a statement from event promoter, Creative Insurgence.
