SRC celebrates 130 years with songs, dances

SINGAPORE - Line dancers from the Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) performing at the club's 130th anniversary on Saturday.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam, an honorary member, was the guest of honour at the event. He also attended the current clubhouse's grand opening in 1997.

More than 360 members and guests attended the event.

The guest list included Mr Gerard Clarke, 94, who has been with the club for more than 78 years and is its longest standing member.

Guests were entertained by local bands such as the Thunderbirds and Jerry and the Neu Faces.

There was also a guest performance by Indonesian singer Queen, performances by the club's dance sections, a National Day sing-along segment, and a special segment by homegrown comedian Kumar.
