Suspect attempts to bribe police officers during anti-vice raid

SINGAPORE - Police arrested a 26-year-old woman yesterday for attempting to bribe three police officers during an anti-vice raid at a residential unit at Wellington Circle.

A total of five men and three women were found in the unit during the raid. The women are believed to have offered sexual services to the men and were placed under arrest.

While two of the officers were interviewing the 26-year-old woman on the $2,349 found in her possession, the suspect offered all the money to the officers for them to let her go.

Police said in a statement that the attempt was "flatly rejected by the officers".

The suspect then requested to speak to a female police officer and made the same offer to her. The attempt was rejected again and the suspect was placed under arrest.

The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau is investigating the suspect for attempting to bribe the police officers. Police investigations against the three female suspects are ongoing.
