Taiwanese dancer claims she was conned into becoming S'pore club hostess

SINGAPORE - A Taiwanese dancer recently sued her agent for conning her into performing unsavoury duties beyond dancing in a Singapore night club.

Miss Zhou claimed that she was forced to drink with patrons, often enduring sexual harassment. She also could not reject the men's invitations to bring her out for supper or movies.

The dancer provided the Taipei District Court, photos of her drinking with customers and written documents detailing the charges for outings.

She won the case as her agent had breached her contract by asking her to work outside her job scope.

However, she is now charged by her previous employer for false claims and slander.

According to an Apple Daily report, Miss Zhou's encounter is not an isolated case.

Other dancers have echoed her claims and added that their passports were withheld and they were threatened with pay cuts to make them comply with the night club patrons' demands.
