Taxi crashes into Jurong West void deck after cabby slams on accelerator when reversing

A taxi ended up in a tight spot, on the parapet of a walkway between Blocks 816 and 817 in Jurong West, this morning (Jan 19) at around 8am.

Stomp contributors Ah Boy and Karim alerted Stomp to photos of the accident, which had been posted online by Facebook users Mohamed Hafiz Pakri and Muhd Ansar Tahir.

According to The Straits Times, the taxi driver had accidentally slammed on the accelerator when reversing at the carpark in Jurong West Street 81 and sent his vehicle over the kerb.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) sent one ambulance to the scene, but no injuries were reported.

Facebook user Ansar said, "Who says walking under the void deck is very safe???!!! Watching too much Fast & Furious."
