Teacher charged with moles

A teacher was on monday charged with outraging the modesty of an eight-year-old girl last October.

The 27-year-old man is accused of committing the act during a Saturday tuition class in a primary school in the west.

Court documents said that while they were in class, the man allegedly asked the victim to go the back of the classroom to read.

While she was standing beside him, the teacher touched her private parts. The girl's mother lodged a police report about two weeks later.

If found guilty of using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a person under 14 years of age, the teacher can be jailed up to five years, fined and/or caned.
