KLUANG - Territorial dispute between two rival gangs involved in drug trafficking has led to the death of man near Kampung AC at Layang-Layang here.

The 44-year-old victim, who is believed to be a drug pusher, was lured to an oil palm plantation by one of his attackers. It is learnt that when the victim arrived, four others beat him up.

Police were alerted to the incident by a call from the public at around 8.30am on Monday.

Kluang deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said police found the victim lying on the roadside.

"He was taken to a clinic where he was pronounced dead," he said yesterday.

A task force has been formed and two men, aged between 25 and 46, have been detained over the murder.

DSP Ahmad Zamry said the post-mortem showed that the victim sustained injuries on his head caused by a blunt object.

He said police were looking for three others and initial investigations showed that all of them including the victim belonged to two different drug syndicates.
