Impregnated by her stepfather when she was just 15 years old, she gave birth to a boy in February.
They had consensual sex 45 times between 2011 and last year.
The 28-year-old stepfather, who cannot be named to protect her identity, was yesterday jailed for six years after pleading guilty to nine counts of having sex with the then-underage girl.
Thirty-six other charges for the same offence were taken into consideration during sentencing.
The pair had sex for the first time on July 31, 2011, when the girl was just 14 and a virgin.
She caught her stepfather watching online pornography that day in their flat in central Singapore.
Deputy Public Prosecutor James Low said that her 33-year-old mother, her younger sister and her half-sister were not home at the time.
When the teenager asked the man, who used to work as a senior sales adviser, what he was doing, he responded by asking her if she was interested to have sex with him.
She agreed and the pair then proceeded to have unprotected sexual intercourse. This marked the start of their illicit affair and they had sex about twice a month.
In August last year, the girl noticed that her abdomen was growing larger but did not think that she was pregnant.
Her stepfather, who also noticed this, asked her if she was with child and she told him that she did not have symptoms of pregnancy.
The man continued having sex with the girl despite her condition.
On Oct 6, the girl, who could not sleep in the wee hours of the morning, sent her stepfather a text message to ask him to "help her". This was a code they used to indicate they wanted to have sex.
They had sex in a storeroom while their other family members were asleep in their bedrooms of the three-room flat.
The next day, the girl went to a polyclinic as she was concerned about her growing abdomen. She was found to be pregnant after a urine test and was transferred to KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).
A test showed that she was 21 weeks pregnant and the date of conception was sometime in late April or early May last year, when she was still a minor.
A hospital staff nurse informed the police and the girl phoned her mother, who works as a merchandiser, to tell her that she was in KKH.
Unaware of her daughter's condition, the woman went there and was told by an investigating officer that her daughter was pregnant with her husband's baby.
During mitigation, the man's lawyer, Mr Mohan Das Naidu, told District Judge Ong Hian Sun that his client regretted his actions and both his parents, who are devout Buddhists, are devastated.
Mr Naidu said the baby was eight months old and that the family was still living in the same household "somewhat in harmony and so far, no one has detected any cracks in the family".
"Life in the household is moving on normally," he added.
For each count of having consensual sex with the underage girl, the man could have been jailed up to 10 years and fined.
