Three bodies found in two days

SINGAPORE - Two bodies were found at two separate locations on Thursday, the second day of 2014, making it three bodies found in two days.

The body of a man in his sixties was pulled from the waters of Singapore River, in front of the river walk, at Upper Circular Road.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call at around 4pm and retrieved the body using rescue lines.

In a separate case, another body believed to be a man in forties was found in the Kallang River at about 4pm.

The body was retrieved from the waters near Kallang Water Sports Centre, after a cleaner spotted it under a section of Nicole Highway at about 3.30pm.

On New Year's Day, the body of 37-year-old Dexmon Chua Yizhi was found in the military training area in thick bushes in Lim Chu Kang.

53-year-old Chia Kee Chen has been charged for his murder, which allegedly took place at a multi-storey carpark at Block 429 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4, which took place between December 28 and 29.

Investigations into the cases are still on-going.
