No tenants at Jem will be open today, say management
SINGAPORE - Members from the Jem management, who were seen managing people on the ground, said that no tenants will be open today and that they have tried to communicate the news to as many tenants as possible last night.

A large portion of the ceiling - believed to be about 50m long - on the first level of the mall fell to the ground just after 10pm, followed by a gush of water from what is understood to be a burst water pipe.Three individuals sustained minor injuries and were conveyed to National University Hospital, a Singapore Civil Defence spokesperson said.

Eye-witnesses who wrote in to citizen journalism website Stomp said that water gushed out from a pipe after the ceiling fell, causing the mall to be flooded.
One reader known as Jansen said that he was at JEM with a friend when they saw the ceiling crash to the first floor of the mall.
He said: "Thankfully no one was killed. I wonder why the ceiling collapsed and how safe the building is."
Another contributor, Ee Ming, said that flooding in shops occurred after the collapse. "One of the affected shops was Fossil," he said.
