KLUANG, Malaysia - Desperate to be a "father", a tomboy abducted a year-old baby - with the help of the infant's aunt.
Metro Ahad reported that the tomboy in her 20s and her 16-year-old lover took the baby from the latter's sister's house in Kampung Tengah, Kluang, five days ago.
The tomboy was believed to have planned the abduction carefully, even taking the baby's mother shopping at a nearby supermarket at about 2pm on Wednesday.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Roze Shaari said the mother, who is aged 17 and a single mother, claimed that the tomboy had told her that she wanted to return to the house to pick up her girlfriend and the baby.
"It was then that she became suspicious when the three did not return to the supermarket after a while," he said.
"The baby's mother lodged a police report after she returned home to find the tomboy, her sister and baby gone. The woman had also attempted to contact her sister but failed," said ACP Mohd Roze.
