Train services to operate overnight on Friday for Parliament House visitors

SINGAPORE - All train services will operate overnight on Friday, March 27, at frequencies of up to 20 minutes, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said.

All MRT and LRT services are being extended for members of the public who wish to pay their last respects to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew at Parliament House.

A total of 41 feeder bus services that travel between train stations and residential areas will also operate through the night.

SBS Transit and SMRT will also operate the usual night bus services to major residential areas from 12am to 2am.

Saturday night/Sunday morning

Train services will not run overnight on Saturday night due to maintenance works, LTA added.

Maintenance works on Saturday night and early Sunday morning will also be intensified as train services may be ramped up to ferry Singaporeans who wish to pay their last respects during the State Funeral Procession on Sunday.

LTA says it will work with public transport operaters on other public transport arrangements, which may include slightly extended hours of train and feeder bus service operation. More details will be provided tomorrow.
