SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three men, aged between 20 and 30, for their suspected involvement in loan sharking activities.
They were arrested at Telok Blangah Drive, Telok Blangah Crescent and Kampong Kapor Road this morning at 4.30am.
According to the police, the three were arrested for attempting to splash paint at HDB units at Upper Boon Keng Road and Redhill.
Two of the suspects will be charged in court tomorrow while investigations against the third suspect are ongoing.
Under the Moneylenders Act, first-time offenders found guilty of acting on behalf of an unlicensed moneylender, committing or attempting to commit any acts of harassment shall be imprisoned for up to five years, fined between $5,000 and $50,000, and shall also be liable to caning of between three and six strokes.
