Tuition scholarship launch at education fair

FIFTY primary school pupils will receive free tuition in a subject of their choice, under a tuition scholarship programme offered by Kent Ridge Education Hub.

Under the programme, Primary 3 to 6 pupils can enjoy 20 free lessons, with registration fee and material costs waived.

Kent Ridge Education Hub will launch the scholarship programme at The Kidz Academy education fair this weekend, in conjunction with SG50 celebrations.

"We want to do what we can to celebrate the nation's birthday and show some support," said Mr Max Wong, principal of Kent Ridge Education Hub.

The Kidz Academy education fair is back for the seventh year with a line-up that features mini games, stage performances and free trial classes for both parents and children.

Visitors can expect meet-and- greet sessions with cartoon characters like the Minions and Pocoyo. There will be a ZooMoov zone where children can take an animal ride or scale a rock-climbing wall.

At a carnival area, children can enjoy a bungee trampoline and ride bumper cars.

They can also make friendship bracelets, and have fun at an inflatable playground and photobooth.

Madam Grace Tan, 45, who has a son in Primary 6, said her family may visit the exhibition.

"It may be good to have a look and see what will help him in the PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination)," said Madam Tan, who works in sales.

The fair, organised by Sphere Exhibits, started yesterday and will run until tomorrow, from 11am to 9pm, at Suntec Singapore Halls 403 to 405. Admission is free.
