Two 27-year-old men arrested for vandalism

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two 27-year-old men for their suspected involvement in the vandalism of several properties around Singapore.

The vandalism acts were reported on Feb 18 and were seen around Little India, Middle Road, Queen Street, Bugis Street, North Bridge Road and Bencoolen Street.

The police were first notified at 5.34pm that graffiti was being painted on a wall near Hindoo Road. A search revealed similar graffiti being painted on the walls of another building at Dunlop Street.

Officer from the Central and Jurong Police Division did a joint investigative probe and subsequently arrested the two men on Mar 4 at Prince Edward Road.

The duo will be charged in court on Mar 6.

If convicted, they face a jail term up to three years or a fine of up to $2,000, and could also be given at least three strokes of the cane.
