Two men, including a Singaporean, were charged in a Magistrate's Court in Johor Baru yesterday for the murder of businessman Yong Boon Cheong, 54, whose charred body was found on an oil palm plantation 24 hours after he was reported missing.

Singaporean businessman Noriskandar Zainal Yahya, 37, and carpet washer Izwanuddin Kassim, 34, were charged with the murder of Mr Yong, which allegedly took place between 6am and 7am on July 4.

Mr Yong's elder brother, who declined to be named, said his brother was the eighth of nine siblings and was a nice man.
