BUTTERWORTH, Malaysia - Two unemployed men were arrested over the murder of a scrap metal collector in Kampung Musa, Bagan Dalam, here.

"When the men confronted the victim, he brought them to a construction site where he had hidden the lorry. They became upset when they found out that the lorry had been seized by the police.

"The victim was then taken to Kampung Musa where they assaulted him with a stick and left him by the roadside where he died," he said here yesterday.

The men, aged 34 and 43, were nabbed shortly after the incident.

SAC Mazlan said police were investigating the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence.
