UniSIM to host S'pore third law school

SIM University (UniSIM) will host Singapore's third law school.

This was announced by Education Minister Heng Swee Keat on Wednesday at the first session of UniSIM's convocation ceremony.

He said: "In selecting UniSIM, we considered its strong track record in the provision of degree programmes for mature individuals, and its complementary offerings in the social sciences and humanities."

He added that while it will provide a general law degree, the school will have a strong focus on criminal and matrimonial law.

The launch date and intake for the course are being worked out.

Mr Heng also said that UniSIM and the Singapore Institute of Technology will launch applied degree programmes, featuring highly structured work attachment programmes, next year.
