An elderly woman from Gua Musang is believed to have died of a heart attack during a robbery at her house, reported Kosmo!
In the incident at 2.30am, Sabariah Yusoff, 70, and her husband Hamzah Doll, 77, were asleep at their home in RPT Sungai Terah when three men, believed to be foreigners and wearing black clothes, woke them up.
Hamzah said the thieves covered his mouth and tied him up with neckties, but his ailing wife was left on the bed.
The thieves took Sabariah's chain, bracelet, ring and RM14,000 (S$5,432) before leaving via the back door and into a waiting car.
After the three men left, Hamzah managed to get to a neighbour's house for help.
When he returned, he found his wife lying by the stairs near the kitchen, presumably dead of a heart attack.
In a separate incident, the daily reported that Che Long Mamat, 63, from Tumpat, is believed to have died of a heart attack three days ago while trying to catch eels at the padi field.
Che Long's body was found by his son Mohammad, 46, that evening, face down in the padi field where the water was calf-deep.
Rahmah Saamah, 59, said her husband had high blood pressure and heart problems and had also suffered a stroke, but catching eels was his job for many years.
