 A wall built by neighbours

Madam Goh Luan Hwee, 82, pointing out to Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman (foreground), Mayor of South East District and MP for East Coast GRC, her contributions to the "Sports Wall" at the void deck of Block 163, Bedok South Road, yesterday.

The wall is part of the Housing Board's Build-a-thon initiative to foster neighbourly interaction and create lively community spaces.

Two hundred residents had gathered from March to May to make 1,071 clay tiles for the wall.

The wall is the first of six planned for the Siglap East precinct.

Other walls will feature themes such as arts, flora and fauna, as well as food and travel.
