War relic found and detonated at Telok Blangah construction site

SINGAPORE - A war relic was discovered and subsequently detonated at a construction site near Telok Blangah Street 31 today.

Two Stomp readers told the citizen journalism website that they spotted police officers as well as personnel from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) at the scene.

Authorities and construction workers were seen holding sandbags.

According to The Straits Times, the junction of Telok Blangah Street 31 and Street 32 was closed to traffic for a few hours.

Police said that the roads have re-opened and traffic is currently back to normal.
