It's a good move because online gambling is worse, you can't tell if someone is rich or poor when they go online to gamble - it's much easier to get a sense of who they are in person.

I think the ban is good as unlike gambling offline, you can't physically see the amount of money you are winning/losing, so the sense of loss is not as strong as losing physical money, making online gambling harder to quit.
