Why no alert on convicted cabby?

Why no alert on convicted cabby?

Why no alert on convicted cabby?

I am puzzled by last Friday's report ("Cabby jailed 2 years for molesting teen").

Why was Trans-Cab unaware that its cabby had been convicted of molesting a girl in December last year, and why did it allow him to continue driving until he committed another offence in May? Also, why did the Land Transport Authority (LTA) not revoke his licence after the first offence?

The courts and LTA should coordinate on a system to alert taxi companies of offences committed by cabbies.
