BUKIT MERTAJAM - A woman and her boyfriend have been remanded in connection with the murder of her five-year-old son who was found dumped at an oil palm estate in Bukit Tengah here.
The couple, in their 30s, were produced yesterday before a magistrate who granted the police a seven-day remand until Oct 6.
The boy was said to have been accidentally killed by his mother at their house in Kulim before the body was dumped. The body was recovered by the police on Monday after a missing person's report was lodged.
Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mazlan Kesah had said that the mother lodged a police report in Kulim, claiming that the boy had gone missing near the Esplanade in George Town on Sept 23.
