Claiming that the meter of the taxi she was in was 'programmed' to over-charge and cheat, a female passenger started hurling vulgarities at the cabby.

The cabby said that the woman started beating him on the head after her vulgar tirade, before jumping out of the taxi even though they were still on the move. He then called the police.

The cabby, who is a contributor to Stomp, shared a video of the woman's rant with the citizen journalism website.

In the three-minute recording, she can be heard repeatedly calling Sha a 'f***ing idiot' and accusing him of 'cheating' her.

She also demanded that he show his face so that she could take a video, and to be allowed to alight the taxi even though they were on the highway.

"Singapura is a f***ing stupid country. You f***ing people love to cheat people," she can be heard saying.

Said the taxi driver: "I picked up a woman from Pasir Ris heading towards Bukit Merah. Halfway through the journey when I was travelling on the ECP, the lady started to shout that the meter was programmed to cheat and that it was over-charging her."

He added that the meter cannot be programmed by taxi drivers.

"After some time, she got aggressive and started hurling vulgarities at me. Eventually, she lost her cool and started beating me on my head," he recounted.

"After some time, she jumped out of the cab while it was on the move. I stopped at the side and decided to follow her to ask for the taxi fare but she just shunned me away. The police was called in eventually."
