Singapore - The elderly woman who was declared brain dead after falling inside a bus has died.
Police said they had been alerted to the accident at Sengkang East Road on August 29.
The 66-year-old woman, who was conveyed unconscious to the hospital, succumbed to her injuries on September 3, police told AsiaOne.
It was earlier reported that Madam Tan Ah Tit had been declared brain dead.
According to Lianhe Wanbao, Madam Tan was on her way home from her Toa Payoh workplace when the driver of the bus braked to avoid crashing into another vehicle.
The Chinese daily said Madam Tan lost her balance and hit her head. Doctors found that her legs were broken and she had a brain haemorrhage.
Her son, 47, got worried when she did not return home by 1am and started to call hospitals to check her whereabouts. He has requested to see closed-circuit television footage from the bus.
