Woman wrecks Changi Airport's Kinetic Rain

PHOTOS and videos of a woman grabbing at part of the Kinetic Rain installation at Changi Airport's Terminal 1 buzzed online yesterday.

The woman apparently climbed over the glass barrier to get onto the metallic safety netting that was suspended above the ground. She ended up damaging the sculpture.

Said to be in her 30s, she was arrested by the police under the Mental Health Act at about 8.30am on Saturday.

Photos posted on Stomp also showed the woman gathering the sculpture's "water droplets".

A Stomp contributor, who wanted to be known only as Mr Low, told My Paper that he was walking past the display when he saw what the woman did.

"She seemed quite fascinated by the display," he recalled, adding that the woman's precarious position also looked dangerous.

Yesterday, a spokesman for the Changi Airport Group said: "We have referred the matter to the police and our engineers are arranging for the sculpture to be repaired."
