Yishun residents kept awake late at night by noisy karung guni

SINGAPORE - Stomp contributor Nic is frustrated at the karung guni men at the shop house of Yishun Blk 123, who constantly make a lot of noise late into the night.

They were heard throwing things into their lorry and dismantling appliances loudly, constantly keeping residents up past midnight.

According to the Stomp contributor, this has been going on since the start of the year and the NEA, Sembawang Town Council, HDB and the police have been informed.

They were given until June 1, 2014 to stop their activities, but a month has passed and nothing has changed.

He reported the situation to the police again last week, but the noise is still keeping him up at night.

Nic said:

"The shop house below the flat at Yishun Blk 123 has become a karung guni store, dismantling refrigerators, washing machines and other stuff, creating noise.

"They even carry out the works till wee hours of the night.

"NEA, Sembawang Town Council, HDB and even Police did not deter the shop owner from stopping their works.

"The shop owner was given till 1st June to remove all the things but to date, nothing is being done.

"Until 12 plus, they throw things onto the lorry, I cannot sleep."
