Youth, 18, arrested for attempted suicide at ITE College West

SINGAPORE - An 18-year-old youth was arrested after attempting to commit suicide at ITE College West yesterday.

A Stomp reader who came across pictures of the incident on Twitter told the citizen journalism website that the episode took place from 3-4pm.

The photos show police officers and school staff restraining the youth.

The Stomp contributor added: "It was really sad to see the youth break down like that. He even pushed the police officers."

A police spokesperson said they received a call at 3.35pm, requesting assistance at a building along Choa Chu Kang Grove.

Upon police arrival, it was established that a case of attempted suicide had occurred.

"An 18-year-old man was arrested in relation to the case. Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson said.
