Youth dies in botched burglary

While breaking into a house, a 21-year-old youth slipped and fell from the roof, cracking his skull. His accomplice, instead of helping him, carried the injured youth to a nearby jetty, stripped him and then dumped him for good.

The youth died shortly after. His body was found last Wednesday in Bukit Kuang, Terengganu, reported Malaysia's The Star.

He was initially thought to have been an assault victim. State CID chief, Assistant Commissioner K. Manoharan, said the youth's sister had reported that he could have been attacked as he was found only in his underpants.

Body found

His body was found near the jetty by a passing fisherman.

ACP Manoharan said the death of the victim two days later was somewhat suspicious as there were no signs of other injuries on his body.

Further investigations led police to a man nicknamed Pok Mi.

"Pok Mi confessed that he and the deceased had gone to a house in the village with the intention of breaking in through the roof," ACP Manoharan told reporters on Sunday.

However, his partner slipped and fell from the roof from a height of about 4.5m, cracking his skull.

Instead of taking him to a doctor, Pok Mi contacted another friend who helped him carry the injured man to the jetty before stripping him and dumping him.
