That was the premise of AsiaOne's Face of the Month search.

You could send in photos of yourself - if you were bored at work - or your friends, colleagues or family could do it -- with or without your knowledge!

Ultimately, we let our AsiaOne readers vote their favourite for the month, and from January to December last year we collated 24 faces - 12 guys and 12 girls, representing each month of the calendar.

The search for AsiaOne's Face of the Month then culminated in a year-end 'Face of the Year' contest, where Mr and Ms January right through to December faced off for the ultimate title. Voting by the public determined 40% of the score, while the remaining 60% was decided by a judging panel that included representatives from contest sponsors Citispa, Salon Esprit, Esprit and Sophys-tique, as well as The New Paper Correspondent and organizer of The New Paper New Face contest, Yeoh Wee Teck.

Awards and prizes were given to the top 3 male and female winners, as well as two subsidiary awards – the Citispa Choice Award, and the Salon Esprit Silky Hair Award where winners received a year's complimentary hair services from Salon Esprit and got to be their in-house model for one year.
