THE shopping malls are making it easier
for people to welcome the new year
with good buys.
At Tiong Bahru Plaza, Century
Square, Hougang Mall and White
Sands, shoppers will be transported back
in time to a Chinese village market that
sells new year goodies, household wares,
apparel and games until Jan 24.
If you wish for a car, spend
$80 at Liang Court, home
to Kare bedding and Raffaele
menswear, until
Jan 25. You might win a
Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2.0.
A Mitsubishi Colt, travel
and spa vouchers are up for
grabs at the Furniture Mall,
where there will be up to 25 per
cent discounts at selected stores.
Ikea has a limited edition Löttorp
collection featuring ox motifs. It
includes kitchen stuff such as aprons,
oven mitts (left) and potholders.
For kids wear, Raffles City's
LegoWear has 20 per cent off its
regular-priced items until Feb 4. At
Suntec City Mall, there is a Sunday 2000 Sale with up to 60 per cent off for kids'
clothing and accessories until Jan 18.
Trade in your used but functioning
irons or vacuums (any brand) for
a new DeLonghi at Best Denki, Carrefour,
Courts, Takashimaya, Tangs or the
Salvation Army and get cash back. Its
XLence Vacuum Cleaner, for example,
is going for $259 (usual price: $369)
after a cashback of $110.
After a hard day of spring-cleaning,
enjoy 20 per cent off for selected facials
and hair services at Spa Scene in Raffles
City. Alternatively, relax at home with

Visiting relatives
To capture all the fond memories,
Olympus is promoting its stylish Mju
series. The slimmest one, Mju 1040, is

Impress the in-laws with a set of six
bottles of Eu Yan Sang bird's nest with
