It looks like a fine-dining restaurant, with its gorgeous decor and crystal chandeliers. It serves food worthy of a fine-dining restaurant, thanks to its French Executive Chef who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in France. However, Brasserie Les Saveurs at the luxurious The St. Regis prefers to be known as an informal restaurant.
Quibble over the precise definition of 'informal' if you like, but there's no denying that if you wish to enjoy well-prepared food in an elegant setting, this is a place to consider. While some dishes may not appeal to everyone, the AsiaOne Just Woman team found plenty to like about this contemporary French restaurant.
Besides classic French-style brasserie fare, it also offers English Afternoon Tea featuring mouthwatering pastries and macaroons, a selection of finger sandwiches, scones as well as Dammann Freres tea. Don't miss the aptly-named 7 Parfums Tea, an aromatic blend of China and Ceylon teas with bergamot, lemon, fresh fig, lotus flowers, pitanga, orange peel and rose petals.

Cuisine
Finely executed French-style brasserie dishes with a hint of Asian influences.
Portions
The regular-sized mains should satisfy most hungry female diners. Salads come in half and full portions.
Setting
High ceilings, crystal chandeliers and luxurious furnishings exude elegance. We also love the fountain display outside the dining area.
Must-tries
• Red Ahi Tuna Tartar ($24++): Even if you don't like your food raw, this dish is worth trying. The fresh tuna has no 'fishy' or unpleasant odour, and the well-balanced combination of herbs is light yet satisfying.
• Duck salad ($15++ for a half-portion, $30++ for a full-sized serving): We like the paper-thin slices of duck which are tossed with walnuts and a myriad of greens. Good enough for a main course.
• Chocolate Cake ($16++): This luscious, molten creation is made with 72% Araguani chocolate. Coffee sorbet instead of the usual vanilla ice cream highlights the slightly dark taste of the chocolate.
Price factor
Budget about $45 per person for lunch; $80 per person for dinner
Afternoon Tea: $45++ ($50++ includes a glass of Champagne)
Sunday Brunch: $148++ for adults; $68++ for children
Things you didn't know
• Almost everything is prepared in-house. The St. Regis smokes its own salmon, bakes its own bread and makes its own ice-cream.
• Fernand Petiot perfected the Bloody Mary cocktail recipe in The St. Regis New York in the 1930s, and each The St. Regis establishment around the world has two versions of it - the original and a "localised" version.
• The macaroons here are a delight. Choose from Rose, Chocolate, Passion Fruit and Hazelnut flavours - one bite and you are hooked.
Verdict
Best for those special meet-ups with your best friends to celebrate life's milestones.
