• They need weekly check-ups to see how the new skin is healing.
• They undergo corrective surgery to get rid of the thick scar tissue and therapy sessions to improve the
movement of their joints and limbs.
• They wear pressure garments to prevent the scarring of the grafted skin from worsening.
• They must avoid exposing the grafted skin to harmful sunrays by spending less time outdoors, especially
in hot and humid Singapore.
• They must not scratch the wounds.
