The fall of Berlin Wall
AFTER several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced on Nov 9, 1989, that all East Germany citizens could visit West Germany.
This announcement signified the opening of the Berlin Wall, an iconic and enduring memory that marked the end of the Cold War and paving the way for the unification of Germany.
This year, Berlin will be commemorating the fall of the Iron Curtain on Monday. Leaders all around the world will gather in Berlin and US rockers Bon Jovi and German DJ Paul van Dyk will entertain the crowd into the night.
